Moving from the City was not easy, especially as
    I had to to it in a rush and my plans to publish a
    NEWSLETTER such as this one had to wait. I was
    encouraged by a local fellow who said we would
    be getting an internet cable out here in a month

     Now, eight months on, the internet cable still has
    not materialized and the best connection I can get
    here is on a very slow mobile phone network that
    often fills up with ordinary telephone calls.

    So between that and running to town for building
    supplies, I have become a frequent traveler. Sadly,
    Crimean bus and taxi service doesn't give miles
    awards. Barring some leg issues after a fall I have
    been healthy and God has done some real travel
    miracles that blessed me greatly.

    Other issues like learning to walk muddy or icy
    uneven roads paved only in cow droppings, and
    alcoholic neighbors who would kill your dog for
    a price...well thats all part of the country charm.

God answered our prayers about the River of Joy project with anointed, creative ideas. We want to
inspire new believers with new ways to use local resources to make their environment more attractive
to visitors without huge expense. (The biggest revenue source in Crimea is tourism). Look what God
showed us.

David lived for 20 years in Santa Barbara where only the finest houses were roofed with real mission tile.
Here in Crimea mission tile is called Tatarski cheripitza. It is abundant and dirt cheap. Modern builders
abandoned it in favor of new materials long ago. But Crimean country folk haven't the money for the finer
modern stuff. They mostly use ugly gray corrugated asbestos now. Asbestos!  Mission tile has my vote.
